William A. Perry Scholarship Fund

Invest in the education of the Festival's youth volunteers

William A. Perry, co-founder of the Waterfowl Festival, was especially devoted to the Carving exhibit. He and his wife Betty were instrumental in the formation of the Duck Sitter program. The name Duck Sitter originally meant young people who were chosen to "sit" or care for an exhibitor's booth for short periods. Today, our youth volunteers have many responsibilities throughout the Festival, and some of our most dedicated adult volunteers have evolved from the program. In memory of Bill, the Perry family established the William A. Perry Scholarship Fund. Your donations provide support for the scholastic efforts of the Waterfowl Festival's younger volunteers. Not only are you investing in their future, you are investing in the Festival's future, as we encourage them to return to volunteer their time and efforts in the years to come. In addition to your contributions, funding for the scholarships also comes from proceeds of the Festival's Cocktail Decoy Auction, held on Preview Night each year. Annual awards are made to student volunteers attending college and other institutions of higher learning. Donations to the William A. Perry Scholarship Fund are 100% tax-deductible.
