CliveRTyler“Pastel Painting” 
Clive Tyler of Taos, New Mexico

This workshop with renowned artist Clive Tyler will demonstrate the use of pastels including a unique under-painting style. Tyler's workshops are relaxed, fun, and full of information in which participants receive individualized attention. Pastel offers clean colors, the ability to work quickly and unique properties that cannot be accomplished with other media. Clive will work on how to simplify a landscape with skies, water, trees and rocks.  You will receive personal guidance and critique, and all levels of experience are welcome.  A suggested supply list will be provided.

 

Tako for Web“Brushing Up on Landscape Oil Painting”

This class is designed for all levels of oil painters, especially those wanting to practice techniques in landscape painting. Jason will help you compose and paint natural land and water elements by first demonstrating and then critiquing each participant’s progress throughout the class. The focus will be on the use of oils in painting natural landscapes, and every participant will finish the day with their own completed painting. Upon registration, the instructor will provide a materials supply list. This class promises to be lots of fun!

 

Hershberger“Essentials of Digital Photography”

This session will be geared to the owner of a compact or digital SLR camera or for those that are making the transition to digital photography. This class will focus on the essentials of digital photography and help participants learn how to get the most out of their digital camera. Discussion will focus on the basics of photographic metering, seeing light, and using aperture, shutter speed, and ISO as creative tools, composition basics, exposure, and the latest field techniques. Wil will also provide critiques of class participant images, so plan to bring along examples of your best shots - and worst ones.

 

Advanced Techniques in Digital Nature Photography”

($75 for both photography classes) 

This session will include the latest techniques in digital photography and how to store and share your photos with relatives and friends.  Topics include digital workflow, management of digital files, and how Lightroom can make the task a lot easier and streamlined. Wil will also provide critiques of participant images, so bring examples of your work.
